I had the pleasure to go to South Florida on business for a few days in December. I hadn’t been down to Miami in a decade! But I used to go all the time.
My grandparents lived in Miami, and we were very close. My grandmother loved literature and the arts, so we had a lot in common. My grandfather was deeply anti-intellectual. He thought ideas were a big waste of time. They were both refugees, and my grandfather’s war experiences made him extremely cynical. He used to say, “everybody’s a hypocrite.” He thought good faith and good intentions were luxuries of the privileged.
I am blessed in more ways than I can count. As the year draws to a close, I’m deeply grateful for the hard work and humanity of my portfolio founders, colleagues, my children and my friends. It’s the first year of Foxe Capital! When you work for yourself, there’s nowhere to hide. Your work reflects your values.
My grandparents’ cynical worldview was informed by suffering. And, weirdly, in some funny mirror way, I guess it’s my worldview, too. Values are luxuries. If you’re privileged enough to have the opportunity to try to be a good person, why would you think twice?

SimpleClosure Awarded “Legal Entity Management Solution Provider of the Year”
Four Questions with Dori Yona, Co-Founder & CEO of SimpleClosure
Dori is the CEO of SimpleClosure, the easiest and most trustworthy way to shut down a company. Every year in the US, roughly 1M businesses shut down. The process of shutting down is painful, bureaucratic and opaque. SimpleClosure is building a technology platform to help streamline and automate the process. SimpleClosure is 85% less expensive than a traditional shutdown and 5x faster.
R: What have you been up to lately?
D: Building and growing! In the past year, since coming out of stealth, we've helped hundreds of companies shutdown. We've been focused on automation and scale while building out our GTM motions.
R: What are you excited about?
D: The future of SimpleClosure is exciting, and we’re just scratching the surface. With roughly 1 million U.S. companies shutting down each year, we’re creating a completely new category. No one has tackled this problem before, and the opportunity is so vast it’s impossible to define a TAM. This is an untapped market, and we’re positioned to lead it by solving critical issues for founders. There’s so much left to address, and we’re just getting started!
R: What do you need from the Foxe Capital universe?
D: Talent, Partners and asking me the right questions.
R: What's your walk-up song?
D: Wake Me Up by Avicii.
